Dennis Richardson has a long history of building barriers to the ballot box. When I mentioned that at a recent debate, he got defensive:
"That is absolutely not correct and if you have evidence to show that to back up your statement, show us the evidence. It's not true,” Richardson said.
Well, the Bend Bulletin did the work for him. They outlined his entire record of supporting voter suppression laws.
Richardson fought to require voters to provide proof of U.S. citizenship to register, and voted against online voter registration. Oregon’s Republicans are still tossing around some of these ideas.
The Secretary of State not only oversees elections, but they can support or oppose any bill in Oregon’s legislature.
I’m the progressive choice for Oregon. I’ll keep increasing access to voting through Oregon’s historic Motor Voter law and support efforts to overturn Citizens United.
Voting is a fundamental right for Americans – donate $25, $50 or $100 today to join my fight!
