Brad Avakian: Oregon's Labor Commissioner

Just say no to corporate polluters

by Brad Avakian.

Our natural legacy is a source of pride in Oregon -- but are we doing enough to halt the climate crisis?

Oregon has always been a leader when it comes to the environment--when I'm Secretary of State, I'll make sure we return to our heritage by making sure we lead on climate.

Right now, Oregon still gets one-third of our power from dirty coal--that's one-third too much. It's time to transition away from energy that pollutes our communities and depletes our natural resources and build a clean energy infrastructure.

A step in the right direction? Doubling our renewable energy standard and going coal free by 2030 with the Healthy Climate Bill.

As Secretary of State, I'll fight for clean energy and forward-thinking climate policies. I'll work to hold polluters accountable and protect what we love about being Oregonians. And I'll work to build a clean energy economy that doesn't threaten the health of current and future generations. As a legislator, I led the charge on our landmark renewable energy standard -- and am thrilled that we're on track to double it. I'm excited about the path ahead and the potential of the Secretary of State's office to ACT on our environmental values.

>>Will you chip in today for an Oregon that leads the nation on solving climate change?

I know you’re with me. It’s time we stand together for the future of Oregon. Chip in $9 today!
